Thinking about Nan Goldin’s work:
I’ve taken a few photographs on my Iphone of myself in my bathroom- this is supposed to be very ‘every day life’ and not professional or too thought out so I’ve not changed anything in the room or how I look. The bathroom is the only other place that I feel ‘safe’ because I can shut the door and the world with it. The bathroom for me, is the place that I see myself for what I look like. I am in a public room so I see myself how public see me, it is a chance to distance myself from my mind and see my reflection in the mirror with natural light and think more objectively. These 3 images show that process of looking at myself and seeing what/ who I am.
